ZOOPARTY
RE-FUSE
Zooparty wasted no time getting a second full-length under their belt, and what a follow up it is!   Building on all the strengths showcased on their debut, this album is even more potent and catchier than the first album.  Twelve more tracks of their instantly-likable melodic punk.  Glen Matlock & Brian James again make guest appearances.  The songs on this album sound a bit more realized and not quite as derivative of their influences, more their own.  The production is stronger and more robust, the choruses more anthemic.  What more can I say?  Pick this fucker up now!!!

ZOOPARTY
YOU ARE HERE
Yet another band from Sweden. When will this little country run dry? Here we have a solid album of bold, soaring punk rock with a decidedly melodic bent. Zooparty is a new band, but it's members are veterans of the Swedish underground punk scene going back to the early '80s (see band page for more info). They were fortunate enough to recruit both Brian James (The Damned) and Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols) to participate on this, their first album, on both guitar and production duties (the first time they've worked together since Iggy Pop's New Values tour in 1979, and the first time they've worked on a studio project together). Not surprisingly, Zooparty have a markedly Damned/Pistols/Professionals sound with big, anthemic melodies and catchy, infectious songs. Overall, a bit poppier than what you've come to expect from Acme, but after a couple of listens I was hooked. I'm sure you will be too.

BAD CHOPPER
It took forever to finish, but alas, here it is: the debut full-length of Bad Chopper is finally out and ready for consumption, and it was worth the wait. For those of you who don't know, Bad Chopper is the new band of ex-Ramone CJ Ward. This outfit has been called the best ex-Ramone effort out of them all, and I would have to agree. CJ brings his signature songwriting and sense of melody to these 12 tracks of simple yet effective rockin' punk tunes. Not attempting to resurrect the Ramones, but rather just channelling his innate gift for writing great catchy, from-the-hip punk rock. One listen to this and you'll understand how he made the cut in that most important punk rock institution that was the Ramones. This recording is given loving production care by longtime Ramones collaborator/producer Daniel Rey and features lead work by the great Walter Lure (Heartbreakers/Waldos).  LP on gorgeous burgundy-colored vinyl.

HERO DISHONEST
WHEN THE SHIT HITS THE MAN
Anyone familiar with this powerhouse act from Finland knows to expect a barrage of bludgeoning devastation. Unfortunately, the good folks in the US of A are not particularly hip to this tip, despite their two extensive US tours. If there's any justice in this world, this will change toot pronto. This, their fourth full-length, proves that their last two phenomenal records were no fluke, but rather proof positive of their gargantuan talent. Slimming down to one vocalist and achieving a cleaner/clearer production, they lose none of the anger, power, and ferociousness of their previous efforts. Fast, aggressive, precise, this record comes out swinging a baseball bat studded with razor blades and doesn't stop until all 21 songs are over. Includes a Deep Wound cover for good measure. Good god almighty people, you need this. Trust me.  (LP on Sabotage)

BILL BONDSMEN
The sophmore EP by one of the most promising midwestern hardcore bands around today.  Anyone who's heard their debut "The Swinging Sounds Of The Bill Bondsmen" knows what I'm talking about.  Real meat & potatoes Motor City hardcore along the musical lines of Poison Idea & Last In Line.  This platter contains five new originals and one cover, recorded by none other than Mister Jim Diamond at Ghetto Recorders in Detroit.  Don't sleep on this one folks.

OUT COLD
LOOKING THROUGH COMMUNIST EYES
Out Cold's first ever video release.  Recorded by an audience member at their first ever show in Russia in August 2004.  An entire set, 18 songs, of intense hardcore, captured spontaneously and left completely raw, the way a hardcore show should be.  If you're a fan of the band or the genre, you're sure to enjoy.  (Available for the same price as a CD!)
ATTENTION, PAL COUNTRIES: This DVD is NTSC format, region 0. It is my understanding that close to all PAL DVD players (70%-90%) can play NTSC DVDs, and all computers with DVD-playing capability can play both formats, so chances are you'll be able to play this DVD.

OUT COLD
GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD
I must admit, I'm really burnt out on trying to come up with new ways to describe Out Cold albums, so I'll just be lazy and blunt... This is their 6th album and contains 14 tracks of white-knuckled, two-fisted, redlined punk/hardcore. Those who are familiar with them know what to expect. Those who aren't, educate yourself.  (LP on Mad At The World or Kangaroo)

The Russian editions also contain the 5 songs from the Planned Accidents EP.

FIVE OUTSIDERS
ON THE RUN
12 tracks of pure instrumental brilliance. This is what the Ventures would've sounded like if they wrote a spaghetti western soundtrack. No kitsch here, just masterful playing, songwriting, and production. Those normally bored by instrumental music should not dismiss this offhand. Tasteful saxophone and guitar leads embellish the songs so well that one doesn't miss vocals at all. Pure enjoyment from start to finish.

AYAYAYAYAYAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!
Japan strikes again!!  Perhaps a little too rockin' to be called hardcore, perhaps a little too intense to be merely punk rock...call it whatever you want, this has what it takes to blow out your eardrums and send you bouncing off the walls.  Overblown and over before you knew what hit you.  Just plain great.

THE REACTION
The brand new band from ex-members of Huntingtons and Deadlines crank out 11 tracks of balls-out, driving, tuneful punk.  Imagine the fuel-injected rawk of Zeke combined with the great melodic sensibilities of the Misfits and a little Ramones thrown in for good measure and you have a recipie for one hell of a good band that totally nails "it" on their debut self-titled CD.

THE SHODS
STOP CRYING

This is the "lost" 2nd album by The Shods.  Recorded for the Fort Apache label in 1997 just before they went under, taking this unbelievably great record down with them and keeping it from being released...until now!  This ain't punk, this ain't hardcore, this is rocknroll written & performed with so much fucking talent you will wonder why the hell this isn't on a major label.  This has it all:  uptempo rockers, despondent ballads, grandiose epics, and deceptively simple hook-laden classics.  Absolutely brilliant from start to finish.  Hallelujah!

WARM JETS
OK, let's get the selling point out of the way...this is CJ Ward's (aka CJ Ramone) new band.  Big deal, right?   Yeah it is chump.  This single contains two outstanding tracks of raw, stripped-down punk rock & roll.  The a-side is a mean, low-slung, swaggering, from the gut soon-to-be classic.  The flip is a hard-driving Ramones-style rocker complete with minimalist Pete Shelley-type solo.  Don't be a fool, get this.  On crystal clear vinyl!

Two tracks each of instrumental mentalness by these two budding talents. Punk rock vs. surf rock. OUT COLD
Hardcore punk rock the way it was played circa 1981/1982 before heavy metal (and later rap) somehow worked it’s way into things and confused everybody. 16 angry, nihilistic, scathing sonic assaults that are over in under 21 minutes. Recorded in 1993 for vinyl only. Remixed and mastered for CD in 1997. Don’t let the cheesy cover fool you, this is not (I mean hot) shit. (LP on Kangaroo)
